Year 12 Business Studies class welcomed Johanna Donaghy

On Thursday 19th October 2017, the Year 12 Business Studies class welcomed Johanna Donaghy to the Business Studies classroom. Johanna is the Transformational Training Manager within Dunbia. This is a large food processing company headquartered in Dungannon which employs approximately 4000 staff and supplies some of the largest supermarkets in the UK.

The purpose of Johanna’s visit was to give a presentation to the class on the different training opportunities within the company as well as details of the different jobs that are available. This information is required as part of the pupils Business Studies controlled assessment which is worth 25% of the GCSE. This was an extremely valuable experience for the pupils and gave them an insight into the different training programmes within a large business. At the end of the presentation, the class had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any issues that they had in relation to the content. Johanna then advised the pupils of her continued support and provided the pupils with her contact details should they require additional information. She also invited the class to make the short journey to Dunbia for a tour! We would like to thank Johanna for taking the time to visit and hope that we can continue to develop links between the school and Dunbia in the future.
