External GCSE Exams

It is the aim of Markethill High School to make the examination experience as stress-free and successful as possible for all candidates. Please browse this section of the website using the menu on the right.

Hopefully, this section of the website will prove informative and helpful for pupils and parents / guardians.  Pupils and parents can browse so that they are also aware of the examination regulations and the procedures to follow in the event of any problems occurring.

The awarding bodies (or examination boards) set down strict criteria which must be followed for the conduct of examinations and Markethill High School is required to follow them precisely.  Pupils should therefore pay particular attention to the Notice to Candidates and the Warning to Candidates in the Useful Resources section. Breaking any of the examination rules or regulations could lead to pupils being ‘disqualified from all subjects’.

Some of the questions pupils or parents  may have are answered in the Frequently Asked Questions section.

If pupils or parents / guardians still have any queries or need help or advice at any time before, during or after the examinations, they can also contact:

Mr J. Browne: Vice-Principal

Mr S. Furphy: Exams officer

Remember, we are here to help.
