In Years 11 and 12 Learning for Life and Work is compulsory, and all pupils sit the GCSE examination.

Aims
- Develop skills of independent thinking, informed decision-making.
- Develop personal, interpersonal, literacy, numeric and ICT skills.
- Develop an understanding of different values and attitudes for working in today’s society.
- Develop skills and knowledge for life long learning.
Modules The course will consist of 4 modules
A Local and Global Citizenship: Cultural Identity, Human Rights, Sectarianism, Structures of N.Ireland Government.
B Personal Social Health Education: Health Issues, Smoking, Drug Abuse, Budgeting and Consumer Protection.
C Learning For Life and Work: Employment Trends, Application Forms and the Job Application Process.
D Coursework {Internally moderated Coursework within school}
Assessment
3 External Assessed Papers on modules (A, B, C) written papers 40%
2 Pieces of Coursework (controlled Assessment) 60%
Candidates can obtain a grade between A* and G
