There are 3 sections to this course: · Unit 1 – Tools and Applications · Unit 2 – Visual Communication Technology · Unit 3 – Understanding ICT systems in Everyday Life Marks awarded Controlled Assessment ( Units 1 + 2 ) - 30% each External Assessment ( Unit 3 ) - 40% Controlled Assessment - this means that “all work, except research, is done under formal supervision” in school.
Unit 1 - 3 tasks · Database · Spreadsheet · Presentation Unit 2 - 2 tasks · Developing a multimedia website · Using multimedia assets and games technology External Assessment consists of one written paper lasting 2 hours. Approximately 60% of class time is allocated for practical work and the completion of controlled assessment.The set tasks are assessed throughout the 2 year period and require continuous hard work. |
