Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance
Provision for Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance is a focus for every pupil. Preparation for steps beyond Markethill High is important and an understanding of the world of work is facilitated at each Key Stage. The school works in partnership with a number of agencies to understand the concepts of employability and entrepreneurship.
Years 8 and 9 are timetabled for Employability within LLW. Pupils follow a programme of Careers Guidance in years 10 – 12. In Year 10 advice is given on the choice of subjects for Key Stage Four. The Careers Officer from the Training and Employment Agency visits the school on a regular basis to discuss career opportunities with individual pupils in Year 12. In their final year pupils have the opportunity to go on ‘Work Experience’ to a place of work of their choosing for one week.
